🌍 Who are we?
Operating across Europe and Asia, WeMaintain specialises in the maintenance and modernisation of lifts, escalators, automatic doors and fire safety systems, combining hands-on technical expertise with technology and data.
Our approach is built on a simple belief: maintenance can be more reliable, transparent and effective when teams have the right tools, the autonomy to make decisions and a clear understanding of what's happening across the equipment they look after.
Since 2026, Otis has been our majority shareholder. WeMaintain continues to operate independently, retaining its own organisation and culture while benefiting from additional resources to support our growth.
Three core values guide the way we work every day:
Care (looking after others): treating colleagues and customers with respect, consideration and a genuine sense of responsibility.
Grit (determination): seeing things through with high standards, commitment and perseverance.
Uniqueness (being different): embracing different perspectives, fresh ideas and new ways of doing things.
Our ambition is to raise the standards of maintenance, alongside the people who make it happen every day.
👀 Why we're hiring
As WeMaintain continues to develop its presence across the UK, we're looking for an experienced Lift Service & Callout Engineer to support our growing activity in Scotland and North East England.
With new commercial opportunities developing across the region, we're looking to strengthen our engineering capabilities and build the foundations for reliable, high-quality maintenance services.
Keeping lifts running reliably is about more than responding when something goes wrong. It requires regular maintenance, a good understanding of the equipment and the ability to identify potential problems before they lead to breakdowns.
At WeMaintain, we believe engineers should have the autonomy, tools and support to take real ownership of the equipment they look after.
In this role, you'll be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and reliability of lifts across your assigned customer sites, combining planned servicing with reactive callouts and fault-finding.
You'll work closely with our Operations and technical teams, while building relationships with the customers who rely on you to keep their buildings running smoothly.
Your challenge will be to deliver consistent, high-quality maintenance, respond effectively when problems arise and take a proactive approach to improving equipment reliability and customer satisfaction, while contributing to WeMaintain's development in the region.
🔎 What makes this role different at WeMaintain?
Lift maintenance isn't just about completing scheduled visits or getting equipment running again after a breakdown.
It's about understanding the condition of the lifts you look after, recognising early signs of failure and making the right technical decisions to prevent recurring issues.
At WeMaintain, we want our engineers to spend less time dealing with unnecessary complexity and more time focusing on what they do best: maintaining equipment, solving problems and looking after customers.
In practice, you'll be responsible for:
Taking ownership of your maintenance portfolio: carrying out planned preventative maintenance across customer sites, ensuring lifts are inspected, serviced and maintained to the appropriate technical and safety standards.
Responding to breakdowns and callouts: diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, identifying the root cause and carrying out safe, effective repairs to restore equipment to service.
Preventing recurring problems: identifying worn components, developing faults and potential reliability issues, and recommending corrective action before they lead to more significant failures.
Building strong customer relationships: communicating clearly with customers on site, explaining technical issues in an accessible way and keeping them informed about completed work and any further action required.
Making informed technical decisions: using your experience, maintenance history and available diagnostic tools to assess equipment condition and determine the most appropriate course of action.
Working closely with our technical and Operations teams: sharing information about complex or recurring faults, escalating issues when necessary and coordinating repairs requiring additional resources or expertise.
Maintaining accurate technical records: documenting maintenance visits, callouts, faults and interventions using our digital tools, ensuring information is clear and accessible to colleagues.
Contributing to continuous improvement: sharing feedback from the field with our Operations, Product and Technology teams to help improve our tools, processes and ways of working.
You'll work on lift installations across your assigned territory, adapting your approach to the condition, technical characteristics and maintenance requirements of each installation.
Our technology and data-driven approach helps engineers access relevant information, monitor equipment history and make better-informed maintenance decisions.
Beyond your day-to-day interventions, your experience and feedback will help us continuously improve how we maintain equipment and support our customers.
