🌍 Who are we?
Operating across Europe and Asia, WeMaintain specialises in the maintenance and modernisation of lifts, escalators, automatic doors and fire safety systems, combining hands-on technical expertise with technology and data.
Our approach is built on a simple belief: maintenance can be more reliable, transparent and effective when teams have the right tools, the autonomy to make decisions and a clear understanding of what’s happening across the equipment they look after.
Since 2026, Otis has been our majority shareholder. WeMaintain continues to operate independently, retaining its own organisation and culture while benefiting from additional resources to support our growth.
Three core values guide the way we work every day:
Care (looking after others): treating colleagues and customers with respect, consideration and a genuine sense of responsibility.
Grit (determination): seeing things through with high standards, commitment and perseverance.
Uniqueness (being different): embracing different perspectives, fresh ideas and new ways of doing things.
Our ambition is to raise the standards of maintenance, alongside the people who make it happen every day.

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm
Area: Scotland and North East England
We’re looking for an experienced Lift Service & Callout Engineer to look after a portfolio of lifts across Scotland and North East England, combining planned maintenance with breakdowns and callouts. WeMaintain is growing in the region, and you’ll help build the foundations of our maintenance service there.
Good lift maintenance is about preventing problems, not just fixing them. At WeMaintain, engineers have the autonomy, tools and support to take real ownership of their equipment. Our digital tools give you each lift’s maintenance history and condition, so you can spot developing faults before they become breakdowns. We want you to spend less time on unnecessary complexity and more time on what you do best: maintaining equipment, solving problems and looking after customers.
🔎 What you’ll do
Carry out planned preventative maintenance across your portfolio, to the right technical and safety standards.
Respond to breakdowns and callouts, find the root cause and carry out safe, effective repairs.
Spot worn components and developing faults, and recommend corrective work before they cause failures.
Explain technical issues clearly to customers on site and keep them informed of completed and future work.
Escalate complex or recurring faults to our technical and Operations teams.
Record visits, faults and interventions in our digital tools.
Share feedback from the field to help improve our tools and ways of working.
👑 Who we’re looking for
An experienced lift engineer who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving technical problems and looks for lasting solutions rather than simply moving on to the next callout.
What you’ll need
At least 3 years’ experience as a fully qualified lift engineer, servicing, diagnosing and repairing lifts
NVQ Level 3 in lift engineering or equivalent
Full UK driving licence
Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
Sound knowledge of lift safety requirements and safe working practices
The ability to organise your own workload and make sound technical decisions
Clear communication with customers and colleagues
What would make you stand out
Experience maintaining lifts from different manufacturers
Experience resolving recurring or complex faults
Familiarity with digital maintenance tools or connected equipment
Knowledge of the lift market in Scotland or North East England
💡 What you should know before joining us
A mix of planned and reactive work: you’ll balance scheduled servicing with breakdowns, callouts and unexpected faults.
Real autonomy: you’ll organise your own work and make technical decisions on site, with our technical team behind you when needed.
Customer-facing field work across a wide area: you’ll travel between sites across Scotland and North East England and represent WeMaintain with customers.
A growing region: our activity here is still developing, so your feedback will directly shape how we work locally.
This role will particularly suit someone who enjoys a mix of maintenance and fault-finding, and takes satisfaction in keeping their lifts running reliably. It may be less suited to someone looking for a repair-only or office-based role.
🎁 What we offer
A hands-on engineering role with a direct impact on equipment safety, reliability and customer satisfaction.
Genuine autonomy in managing your maintenance activities and technical interventions.
Access to modern digital tools designed to support engineers and improve maintenance practices.
A collaborative working environment that values technical expertise, initiative and responsibility.
An international business with teams bringing a wide range of technical expertise.
Opportunities for professional development and internal mobility.
Base salary: £45,000–£56,000 per year, depending on experience.
Annual bonus: £6,000.
Full-time position based in Scotland and North East England.

We carefully review every application. We’re not necessarily looking for someone who ticks every single box on a job description, and we know that the strongest career paths aren’t always the most conventional.
We also recognise that women, in particular, can be less likely to apply for a position unless they meet every listed requirement. So, if you’re reading this and thinking, “This role sounds like a great fit, but I don’t quite tick every box”, we’d genuinely encourage you to apply anyway. What matters most to us is what you can bring to the role, how you think, how you collaborate with others and the impact you could have at WeMaintain.
We value diversity in backgrounds, experiences and perspectives, and we’re committed to creating an inclusive working environment. Every application is considered fairly, regardless of background, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, beliefs or personal circumstances.
