🌍 Who are we?
Operating across Europe and Asia, WeMaintain specialises in the maintenance and modernisation of lifts, escalators, automatic doors and fire safety systems, combining on-the-ground expertise with technology and data.
Our approach is built on a simple belief: maintenance can be more reliable, transparent and efficient when teams have the right tools, the autonomy to make decisions and clear visibility over the equipment they look after.
Since 2026, Otis has been our majority shareholder. WeMaintain continues to operate independently, maintaining its own organisation and culture while benefiting from additional resources to support our growth.
The way we work is guided by three core values:
Care: treating colleagues and customers with respect, consideration and responsibility
Grit: seeing things through with determination, perseverance and high standards
Uniqueness: embracing different perspectives, fresh ideas and new ways of doing things
Our ambition is to raise the standards of building maintenance, alongside the people who make it happen every day.
👀 Why are we building this Talent Pool?
This is not an advertisement for a currently open vacancy.
As WeMaintain continues to grow across the UK, we're always keen to connect with people who are looking to build a career in engineering.
Whether you're just starting out, have recently completed a technical qualification or are considering a career change, we'd love to hear from you.
Rather than waiting until a position becomes available, we're building a Talent Pool of motivated individuals interested in future Trainee Engineer opportunities.
When a suitable role opens, we may get in touch with the key details, including location, responsibilities, training opportunities and salary, so you can decide whether it's something you'd like to explore.
The idea? Let's get to know each other today, so we can explore working together when the right opportunity comes along.
🔎 The Trainee Engineer role at WeMaintain
As a Trainee Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to develop practical engineering skills while working alongside experienced professionals in the lift and escalator industry.
Depending on the position, you'll gradually learn how to inspect, maintain, diagnose and repair equipment, always with the appropriate supervision and support.
Your responsibilities could include:
Assisting experienced engineers with routine maintenance, inspections and repair activities
Learning how mechanical and electrical systems operate, and developing your fault-finding skills
Supporting on-site work while following safety procedures and technical standards
Using our digital tools to record work completed and maintain accurate technical documentation
Working closely with engineering and operations teams to deliver reliable service to our customers
You'll develop your knowledge through practical experience, guidance from colleagues and training appropriate to the role.
The exact responsibilities and training arrangements will depend on the opportunity available.
🔧 What makes this role different at WeMaintain?
At WeMaintain, we believe great engineers are developed through hands-on experience, the right support and the opportunity to take on responsibility as their skills grow.
Here's what makes our approach different:
Learning from experienced engineers: gain practical knowledge by working alongside professionals who understand the industry
Technology that supports your work: discover how our digital tools and data help engineers work more efficiently
A people-first culture: join a team where collaboration, respect and sharing knowledge matter
Room to develop: build your technical expertise and explore potential progression into more specialised engineering roles
We don't expect you to know everything from day one. What matters is your willingness to learn, your attitude and your commitment to doing things properly.
👑 Who are we looking for?
We're interested in meeting people who enjoy understanding how things work, solving practical problems and developing new skills.
The essentials
A genuine interest in engineering, particularly mechanical or electrical systems
A practical, hands-on approach and a willingness to learn
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
A strong awareness of health and safety, with a willingness to follow procedures
Reliability, a positive attitude and the ability to work well with others
Nice to have
A technical qualification or background in mechanical, electrical or maintenance engineering
Some experience in a workshop, maintenance, construction or other technical environment
A full UK driving licence, which may be required for certain field-based roles
Previous experience in the lift industry isn't necessarily required. We're equally interested in people with transferable technical skills, early-career candidates and those looking to move into a new engineering specialism.
If you're motivated to learn and build a long-term career, we'd encourage you to apply.

3. We get back in touch when a relevant opportunity arises
When a suitable Trainee Engineer position becomes available, we may contact you with the key details, including location, responsibilities, training arrangements and salary.
