👀 Who we’re looking for

We are looking for a Night Escalator Engineer to join our Field Operations team in London, working on a 4 nights on / 4 nights off shift pattern.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing escalators safely and reliably across our client sites. You’ll play an important role in identifying issues early, carrying out high-quality maintenance and repairs, and using your field expertise to help us continuously improve the way we work.

📌 Your day-to-day at WeMaintain

Nights are when escalators are quietest, so it's the best time for proper engineering work. The job is about catching problems early and keeping equipment running, not just fixing breakdowns. You'll:

• Carry out planned maintenance and detailed inspections of mechanical, electrical and safety components

• Spot worn or failing parts early and recommend repairs before they turn into breakdowns

• Find and fix faults, aiming to fix first time, and respond to overnight callouts

• Carry out planned repairs and help with bigger component replacements

• Test and adjust safety devices after any maintenance or repair

• Flag repeat faults so we can deal with the cause

• Keep accurate digital records and give the day team a clear handover

• Work safely every time: risk assessments, isolation and lock-off, and never returning a unit to service unless it's safe

👑 What we’re looking for

• Have proven experience maintaining and repairing escalators

• Have strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills and can read technical schematics

• Are confident working independently at night and making sound technical decisions

• Are rigorous, detail-oriented, and take pride in delivering high-quality work

• Hold an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in lift/escalator, electrical or mechanical engineering, or have equivalent industry experience

• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, site security, and colleagues

• Take safety seriously and follow the right procedures every time
  

💰 Compensation

• £62K + £12k annual bonus
