Lead UK field operations across multiple locations, combining team leadership, technical expertise and commercial ownership to improve service quality and drive operational performance.
We usually respond within a week
🌍 Who are we?
Operating across Europe and Asia, WeMaintain specialises in the maintenance and modernisation of lifts, escalators, automatic doors and fire safety systems, combining hands-on technical expertise with technology and data.
Our approach is built on a simple belief: maintenance can be more reliable, transparent and effective when teams have the right tools, the autonomy to make decisions and a clear understanding of what's happening across the equipment they look after.
Since 2026, Otis has been our majority shareholder. WeMaintain continues to operate independently, retaining its own organisation and culture while benefiting from additional resources to support our growth.
Three core values guide the way we work every day:
Care (looking after others): treating colleagues and customers with respect, consideration and a genuine sense of responsibility.
Grit (determination): seeing things through with high standards, commitment and perseverance.
Uniqueness (being different): embracing different perspectives, fresh ideas and new ways of doing things.
Our ambition is to raise the standards of maintenance, alongside the people who make it happen every day.
👀 Why we're hiring
We're looking for a Branch Manager to lead and develop our field operations in the UK.
Based in London and reporting directly to James Kelleher, our UK Managing Director, you'll oversee operations spanning multiple locations and technical service areas within the building maintenance industry.
This is a role at the heart of our business. You'll be responsible for ensuring our operations deliver the quality, reliability and responsiveness our customers expect, while creating the right environment for our engineers and operational teams to succeed.
You'll work closely with Operations Managers, field engineers, technical specialists and external contractors, as well as colleagues across Sales, Finance, Product and our wider leadership team.
The scope is broad: from managing service performance and operational capacity to developing teams, strengthening customer relationships, improving processes and ensuring financial discipline.
Your challenge will be to balance operational excellence, people leadership and commercial performance, building an organisation that delivers consistently for customers while supporting the continued development of our UK business.
🔎 What makes this role different at WeMaintain?
Leading field operations in a regulated, technically demanding industry is about more than ensuring work gets done.
At WeMaintain, we believe strong operational performance comes from giving engineers the right tools, clear responsibilities and the autonomy to use their expertise, while maintaining high standards of safety, accountability and customer service.
As Branch Manager, you'll play a key role in making that approach work at scale.
In practice, you'll be responsible for:
Driving service delivery and operational performance: overseeing maintenance and repair operations, monitoring capacity, balancing engineer workloads and ensuring teams are organised to meet customer commitments.
Taking ownership of service quality: monitoring operational SLAs, breakdown response, repair times and customer satisfaction, using performance data to identify issues and drive meaningful improvements.
Leading and developing field teams: supporting Operations Managers, strengthening technical and management capabilities, improving onboarding and training, and creating clear expectations around performance and accountability.
Putting health and safety at the centre of operations: ensuring teams follow the appropriate safety standards, processes and regulatory requirements, working closely with technical experts and other operational leaders.
Managing complex operational challenges: acting as a senior escalation point for customer complaints, technical queries, service disputes and situations requiring coordination across several teams.
Building strong customer relationships: supporting Operations Managers in key customer meetings, resolving sensitive issues, gathering feedback and ensuring clear communication around maintenance, repairs, shutdowns and service requirements.
Taking responsibility for financial performance: managing operations against the annual budget, overseeing spare parts purchasing and billing processes, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and commercial performance.
Supporting business growth: working with Sales and operational teams to identify additional customer needs, develop cross-selling opportunities and ensure the operational organisation can support regional business development.
Improving the way we work: collaborating with Product and Technology teams to develop our proprietary field applications, digital tools and IoT capabilities, helping turn operational feedback into practical improvements.
You'll also coordinate with subcontractors, technical teams, customers and relevant external stakeholders, including insurance auditors, to ensure operations run effectively and meet the necessary requirements.
This is a hands-on leadership role. We expect you to provide direction and structure, but also to get involved when complex situations arise, support your teams in finding solutions and remain close to the realities of field operations.
Beyond the day-to-day, you'll work directly with our UK Managing Director to identify operational priorities, improve the organisation and support its development.
👑 Who we're looking for
We're looking for an experienced operational leader who understands both the technical realities of the lift and escalator industry and the people responsible for keeping equipment running.
You'll need to combine a strong operational mindset with the ability to lead teams, make decisions, manage customer expectations and take responsibility for business performance.
We're particularly interested in people who can bring structure without unnecessary bureaucracy, use data without losing touch with what's happening in the field, and support their teams while holding them accountable.
What you'll need
In-depth knowledge of the lift and escalator industry, with a strong understanding of field operations, maintenance, repair activities and the associated technical and regulatory requirements.
Proven experience managing field organisations of 20+ people, including team leadership, performance management and operational coordination.
A strong track record of delivering against operational SLAs and service quality expectations in a demanding or regulated environment.
Experience managing operational capacity, allocating resources and improving service delivery through performance monitoring and practical action.
The ability to make sound decisions in complex or ambiguous situations, balancing customer expectations, operational requirements and the realities faced by field teams.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to handle difficult customer conversations and work with senior leadership.
A genuine customer service mindset, combined with strong commercial awareness and a clear understanding of operational accountability.
A hands-on leadership approach: someone who is comfortable taking responsibility, supporting colleagues and getting involved in the detail when needed.
What would make you stand out
Experience overseeing operations across several locations or regions.
A track record of improving operational processes, service quality or team performance.
Experience managing operational budgets, costs and commercial performance.
Familiarity with digital field service management tools, operational dashboards or IoT-enabled maintenance solutions.
Experience supporting organisational change, developing team structures or implementing new operational processes.
Experience working closely with commercial teams to support customer retention and business growth.
These are genuine advantages, but they're not all essential. If the core responsibilities match your experience and you identify with the way we work, we'd encourage you to apply.
💡 What you should know before joining us
We believe in being upfront about what a role involves. This position comes with:
A broad scope of responsibility: you'll be managing service delivery, people, customers and financial performance, often with several priorities competing for attention.
A demanding operational environment: breakdowns, technical issues and customer escalations don't always happen at convenient times, and you'll need to make informed decisions under pressure.
A hands-on management approach: this isn't a role where you simply review reports. You'll need to understand what's happening on the ground and be ready to support your teams when it matters.
A high level of accountability: you'll have the autonomy to make decisions, but you'll also be expected to take ownership of their impact on customers, colleagues and the business.
Cross-functional collaboration: operational decisions often involve Sales, Finance, Product, technical experts and senior leadership, so you'll need to bring people together and keep things moving.
A multi-location operational scope: while the role is based in London, your responsibilities extend across different UK locations.
In return, you'll have the opportunity to influence how our UK operations are organised, develop the people behind our service delivery and contribute directly to improvements in performance and customer experience.
You'll also work closely with the Managing Director, with the visibility and responsibility to make a meaningful difference to the business.
This role will particularly suit someone who enjoys combining operational leadership, people development and practical problem-solving, and who is motivated by seeing improvements translate into real results.
It may be less suited to someone looking for a purely strategic leadership position with limited involvement in day-to-day operations, or a highly structured environment where every decision is already defined.
