Lead NetSuite Engineer - M/F/X
NetSuite powers our finance and supply chain across four countries. No one owns it in-house. Take the lead, fix what's broken, and stop waiting for permission to make things better.
We usually respond within a day
NetSuite runs all our finance and supply across four countries, and no one in-house owns it. We want you to be that person: take it back from our partner, decide what it becomes, and ship changes every week, not every quarter. If you've ever wanted to stop waiting on a change board, this is the role.
🌍 Who are we?
Operating across Europe and Asia, WeMaintain specialises in the maintenance and modernisation of lifts, escalators, automatic doors and fire safety systems, combining hands-on technical expertise with technology and data.
Our approach is built on a simple belief: maintenance can be more reliable, transparent and effective when teams have the right tools, the autonomy to make decisions and a clear understanding of what's happening across the equipment they look after.
Since 2026, Otis has been our majority shareholder. WeMaintain continues to operate independently, retaining its own organisation and culture while benefiting from additional resources to support our growth.
Three core values guide the way we work every day:
Care (looking after others): treating colleagues and customers with respect, consideration and a genuine sense of responsibility.
Grit (determination): seeing things through with high standards, commitment and perseverance.
Uniqueness (being different): embracing different perspectives, fresh ideas and new ways of doing things.
Our ambition is to raise the standards of maintenance, alongside the people who make it happen every day.
👀 Why we're hiring
We're looking for a Lead NetSuite Engineer who wants to own a platform, not work through a ticket queue.
Until now, an external partner has configured and changed NetSuite for us. Every change was slow, and NetSuite never caught up with how we actually work. The result is what you'd expect: gaps in our stock data, few guardrails, and a lot of finance work still done by hand in spreadsheets. We'd rather tell you now than have you find out in week two.
So the first months are part archaeology, part repair. You'll take over what exists, understand why it is the way it is, fix what's broken, and then build. That suits people who like an imperfect starting point and the freedom that comes with it. It would frustrate people who want a clean system, a fixed scope, or a pure development role.
This is a newly created position within our Product & Engineering team, open to candidates working remotely from Europe. You'll be the only in-house NetSuite person, at least at first. No team around you, and no change board above you.
You'll report to Tim (CIO) in Product & Engineering, with a dotted line to Marine (VP Operations), who is your main stakeholder. Day-to-day, you'll work with our Finance team (FP&A led by Amin) and our Supply Chain team (led by Hamza), across France, the UK, Singapore and Hong Kong.
Your mission is to take full ownership of NetSuite and turn it into a reliable, efficient platform that supports how our business actually works, rather than forcing our teams to work around its limitations.
🔎 What makes this role different at WeMaintain?
This position goes well beyond NetSuite administration or development. What makes it different is the freedom to make decisions, the responsibility to deliver and the direct impact your work will have on our operations.
Most NetSuite jobs come with a ticket queue, a change board, and months between an idea and a release. Here you own the platform, you decide with the business, and you ship. You'll see the impact within weeks, not quarters.
In practice, you'll be responsible for:
Owning NetSuite end-to-end. Bring the knowledge of our setup in-house, then run and change it yourself: configuration, workflows, SuiteScript, integrations.
Deciding with the business, then shipping. You recommend, you arbitrate between requests, and you choose the tools. Finance and Supply bring you problems. Shaping the answer is your job.
Saying no when that's the right answer. Plenty of requests add complexity for little value. We'd rather you find the real problem and propose something simpler than build exactly what was asked.
Splitting your week between build and process. Some days you'll write SuiteScript. Other days you'll map a receiving flow with a warehouse team or walk through the close with a controller. Both are the job.
Looking past NetSuite when it's the wrong tool. Sometimes a small app, an integration or an agent on top does the job better than another custom record. We expect you to try those.
The platform currently supports two essential parts of our business across four countries:
Finance: accounting, invoicing, collections and month-end close, across several subsidiaries and currencies.
Supply Chain: purchasing, receiving, fulfilment and physical inventory in each country, plus stock held on some client sites.
Around it sit Airwallex and Payhawk on the money side, plus a lot of spreadsheets that shouldn't exist. We won't pretend it's in great shape. If it were, we wouldn't be opening this role.
Three major challenges are already waiting for you:
Making stock in NetSuite match what's on the shelves. That means rebuilding how parts are ordered, approved, received, and moved, with guardrails that keep the data clean without anyone policing it. It also means a global stock view across four countries, and stock on client sites that still has to show up somewhere.
Cleaning up the parts catalogue. Remove duplicates and fill the gaps. Then build our purchasing policy into the system: preferred suppliers, approval rules, replenishment.
Getting the close out of spreadsheets. Internal control workflows, Airwallex and Payhawk integrations, revenue recognition, and analytical data good enough that Finance stops rebuilding it by hand every month.
And on AI, specifically? Use it. Obviously. Doing this job without it would be like closing the books on paper. Much of what this role touches is exactly the work AI is now good at: matching supplier invoices to receipts, finding duplicates in a messy parts catalogue, chasing collections, explaining why a stock count is off before anyone opens a spreadsheet. Some of that belongs inside NetSuite. Much of it belongs in an agent sitting next to NetSuite, doing the dull work and handing a person the decision.
We want you to build those yourself, not wait for a NetSuite release to ship them. Speed is our edge. An ERP owner who only configures screens won't make Finance and Supply faster. Someone who can put an agent on the close, measure whether it holds up, and switch it off if it doesn't, will.
You don't need to have done it before. You do need to want to. And you won't be BS'd or FOMO'd about it here: no shiny badges, no chatbot bolted onto a sidebar, just workflows that do real work.
And why does all of this actually matter? Very little here is self-contained. A spare part ordered for a lift repair becomes a purchase order, a receipt, a stock move, a line on a client invoice and a revenue line, in four countries with four sets of local rules.
When NetSuite gets that wrong, a technician waits for a part, someone in Finance loses a day reconciling, and a tenant spends a day walking up stairs. When it gets it right, nobody notices, and that's the goal. NetSuite will be your core responsibility, with genuine autonomy over technical decisions and priorities. Beyond these initial challenges, if you want to take on wider Finance and Supply Chain systems over time, that door is open.
👑 Who we're looking for
Above all, we're looking for someone who can see the bigger picture, take ownership of their area and turn ideas into action with autonomy and accountability.
Your background matters, but we're equally interested in how you work and your ability to take ownership: understanding what needs to be done, taking the initiative, driving things forward independently and being accountable for the outcome, not just completing tasks.
What you'll need
Several years of hands-on NetSuite experience, in-house or at an implementation partner. You've configured workflows and developed SuiteScript yourself rather than simply specifying them for someone else.
Strong knowledge of NetSuite Finance or Inventory processes, with enough understanding of the other side to learn it quickly.
Experience building integrations using REST APIs, SuiteTalk, iPaaS platforms or banking and fintech connections.
The ability to sit with a controller or warehouse lead, without a project manager in the room, understand what they actually need and come back with something simpler than what they asked for.
The confidence to challenge stakeholders and say no when that's the right answer, while explaining your reasoning clearly.
The independence to own a business-critical platform, set priorities and stay close to the people using it across different countries and time zones.
Professional fluency in English, the working language for this position.
What would make you stand out
You're strong on both Finance and physical Inventory Management in NetSuite.
You've managed multi-subsidiary, multi-currency environments, ideally including Asia.
You've worked on revenue recognition (ARM), internal controls or month-end close automation.
You've worked in field services, maintenance, logistics or industrial distribution: anywhere the system describes physical things moving around.
You've used AI tools or LLM APIs to automate real work, and know the difference between a demo and something that holds up.
You hold NetSuite certifications or speak French.
These are genuine advantages, but they're not all essential. If you feel the core responsibilities match your experience and you identify with the way we work, we'd really encourage you to apply.
We don't expect you to have all of this already. We do expect you to ramp fast, think clearly and take ownership quickly.
💡 What you should know before joining us
We believe in being upfront about what a role involves. This position comes with:
A high level of independence and responsibility. You'll initially be the only in-house NetSuite specialist. There's no dedicated team to distribute tasks to and no change board making decisions for you. You'll need to balance priorities, manage expectations and take responsibility for the outcomes.
A role that is both technical and operational. Writing code is only part of the job. You'll need to understand how people actually work, why processes fail and what makes a solution useful beyond the technical implementation.
Competing business priorities. Finance and Supply Chain won't always want the same things. You'll have to navigate those differences, challenge requests and find solutions that make sense for the business as a whole.
International collaboration. You'll work with teams across France, the UK, Singapore and Hong Kong, which requires clear communication, organisation and flexibility across time zones.
In return, you'll have genuine freedom to shape a business-critical platform, direct access to decision-makers and the opportunity to see the impact of your work within weeks rather than quarters. And that impact will become increasingly important.
The Otis deal means we're accelerating, not consolidating. Growing faster only works if Finance and Supply can keep up, and right now NetSuite is what slows them down. Your job is to turn it into the reason they can keep up.
This position will particularly suit someone who enjoys solving messy problems, challenging the status quo, building practical solutions and taking ownership from start to finish.
It may be less suited to someone looking for a clean and highly structured environment, a fixed scope, a large internal ERP team or a purely development-focused role.
🌟 What success looks like in the first few months
We want expectations to be clear from the outset. Here are the key milestones that will help you settle into the role and the results we'll work towards together over the first few months.
Your first month
The main focus will be to:
Understand our existing NetSuite setup, our Finance and Supply Chain processes, and the people behind them.
Take over the platform knowledge from our external partner.
Identify the main operational risks, system limitations and priorities for improvement.
By month 3
We'd expect you to be able to:
Run, configure and change NetSuite independently, without outside help.
Have the first guardrails on ordering, approvals and receiving live.
Establish a clear roadmap agreed with Finance and Supply Chain, with ownership of its technical implementation.
By month 6
You should have:
Significantly improved the quality of our parts catalogue.
Established a clearer, more reliable global stock setup, including remote inventories and stock held at client sites.
Embedded purchasing policies, preferred suppliers and approval rules within NetSuite.
Automated key collection and month-end close processes, reducing manual work for Finance.
By month 12
We'll consider your first year a success if:
Stock data matches what's physically on the shelves, across our operations.
Month-end closing relies on far fewer spreadsheets, with more reliable financial data and less manual reconciliation.
Teams come to you to make things better, not just to fix them, because NetSuite has become a platform they can rely on.
🎁 What we offer
A role with direct business impact: what you build will influence how Finance and Supply Chain operate across four countries, and ultimately how we deliver our services.
Genuine autonomy and ownership: you'll make technical decisions, choose solutions and help define how NetSuite evolves.
An international working environment, collaborating directly with colleagues across Europe and Asia.
Opportunities for career development and internal mobility, including the possibility of expanding your ownership into wider Finance and Supply Chain systems.
Fully remote working from Europe, or the option to work from one of our four offices.
Three in-person team gatherings per year to connect, collaborate and spend time together.
Compensation
As this is a Europe-wide role, compensation is adapted to your country of residence and aligned with local market benchmarks.
Europe: €70,000–€95,000 gross annual base salary, depending on your country.
United Kingdom: £75,000–£95,000 gross annual base salary.
The exact package will depend on your experience, level of ownership and demonstrated impact.
