🌍 Who are we?
Operating across Europe and Asia, WeMaintain specialises in the maintenance and modernisation of lifts, escalators, automatic doors and fire safety systems, combining hands-on technical expertise with technology and data.
Our approach is built on a simple belief: maintenance can be more reliable, transparent and effective when teams have the right tools, the autonomy to make decisions and a clear understanding of what's happening across the equipment they look after.
Since 2026, Otis has been our majority shareholder. WeMaintain continues to operate independently, retaining its own organisation and culture while benefiting from additional resources to support our growth.
Three core values guide the way we work every day:
Care (looking after others): treating colleagues and customers with respect, consideration and a genuine sense of responsibility.
Grit (determination): seeing things through with high standards, commitment and perseverance.
Uniqueness (being different): embracing different perspectives, fresh ideas and new ways of doing things.
Our ambition is to raise the standards of maintenance, alongside the people who make it happen every day.
👀 Why we're hiring
We're looking for a Senior Modernisation Sales Manager to help grow our modernisation and new installation business across the UK.
This role combines two important aspects of our commercial development: identifying new opportunities within our existing nationwide customer portfolio and building relationships with new customers.
We already work with customers across the UK, and part of your responsibility will be to explore how we can support them further with their modernisation and new installation needs. Alongside this, you'll actively develop new business opportunities with property managers, building owners, consultants and other key stakeholders.
You'll work closely with our Sales, Operations and Project Management teams, drawing on their technical expertise and customer knowledge to identify opportunities, conduct site surveys, prepare competitive proposals and secure new projects.
From initial customer discussions through to technical assessments, tender submissions and contract negotiations, you'll be involved throughout the commercial journey.
Your challenge will be to turn existing customer relationships and new market opportunities into a strong, sustainable pipeline, contributing directly to the growth of our UK modernisation business.
🔎 What makes this role different at WeMaintain?
Lift modernisation sales require more than commercial experience. Every building, installation and customer requirement can be different, and finding the right solution means understanding both the technical and commercial aspects of a project.
At WeMaintain, you'll have the opportunity to build on an established nationwide customer portfolio while also developing new business. You'll have the autonomy to identify and progress opportunities, working closely with the teams who understand our customers' equipment and will ultimately deliver the projects.
In practice, you'll be responsible for:
Developing opportunities within our existing customer portfolio: working closely with our UK teams to identify modernisation and new installation opportunities across our nationwide customer base, strengthening existing relationships and understanding evolving customer needs.
Building new business relationships: proactively identifying and engaging property managers, building owners, consultants and other decision-makers to expand our presence in the UK market.
Managing the full sales cycle: from identifying and qualifying opportunities through to customer meetings, proposals, tender submissions, negotiations and securing new projects.
Understanding the technical requirements: visiting sites, surveying existing installations, taking relevant measurements and identifying suitable lift modernisation or new installation solutions.
Preparing competitive tenders: liaising with suppliers to obtain accurate costs and working with internal teams to develop technically appropriate and commercially viable proposals.
Connecting sales with delivery: collaborating with Operations and Project Management to ensure customer commitments are realistic and projects are handed over effectively.
Building and managing your pipeline: maintaining accurate records in Salesforce, forecasting opportunities and developing commercial action plans to support your targets.
You'll also need to keep up to date with relevant industry regulations and the independent lift solutions available on the market.
Beyond your day-to-day responsibilities, you'll have the opportunity to share market insights, identify new areas for growth and contribute to how we develop our modernisation business.
👑 Who we're looking for
We're looking for someone who combines a strong commercial mindset with the curiosity and technical understanding needed to sell complex solutions.
You'll be comfortable building relationships with existing customers, identifying opportunities they may not yet have considered, developing new business and taking ownership of projects from initial discussions through to contract award.
We value people who can work independently, make informed decisions and follow through on their commitments, while knowing when to involve the right colleagues.
What you'll need
Proven B2B sales experience within Hard FM, building services or the lift industry, with a track record of achieving or exceeding commercial targets.
Experience developing business opportunities across both existing customer accounts and new prospects, including managing complex sales cycles, negotiations and tender submissions.
The ability to understand technical requirements and work confidently with engineers, suppliers and project teams.
Strong relationship-building skills, particularly when engaging property managers, asset owners, consultants or other business stakeholders.
The ability to manage multiple commercial opportunities simultaneously, with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Experience using CRM systems to manage sales activity and pipeline forecasts.
A proactive approach, with the autonomy and accountability to take responsibility for your commercial results.
What would make you stand out
Direct experience in lift modernisation or new installation sales.
Knowledge of independent lift packages and industry suppliers.
Experience conducting technical site surveys and contributing to project costings.
An understanding of the UK commercial and residential property markets.
Experience identifying opportunities to expand services within an established customer portfolio.
Familiarity with Salesforce.
These are genuine advantages, but they're not all essential. If the core responsibilities match your experience and you identify with the way we work, we'd encourage you to apply.
💡 What you should know before joining us
We believe in being upfront about what a role involves. This position comes with:
A balance between existing customers and new business: you'll be expected to identify opportunities within our nationwide portfolio while also developing new relationships and expanding our market presence.
A combination of commercial and technical responsibilities: including customer meetings, site surveys, tender preparation and internal coordination.
Ownership of your commercial pipeline: from identifying opportunities and managing customer relationships to prioritising activity and delivering against sales objectives.
Regular travel to customer sites and meetings across the UK, alongside collaboration with our wider business.
The need to balance customer expectations, commercial opportunities and technical feasibility, ensuring that proposed solutions are both appropriate and deliverable.
In return, you'll have genuine ownership of your commercial activity and the opportunity to build on an existing customer base while directly contributing to the development of our UK modernisation business.
This role will particularly suit someone who enjoys building long-term customer relationships, spotting commercial opportunities, solving technical challenges and turning ideas into tangible results.
It may be less suited to someone looking for a predominantly desk-based sales position or a role focused exclusively on account management without proactive business development.
